Volt Typhoon malicious activity alert

The department has issued an alert to funded organisations of malicious cyber activity associated with Volt Typhoon, a threat actor, which is affecting networks across US Critical Infrastructure organisations and sectors.

The activity is focused on using compromised credentials to access and undertake network system discovery.


Information on Volt Typhoon and mitigation steps has been published on the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS) SharePoint site.
 

Organisations should refer to the site and take the necessary steps outlined to ensure they are protected.
