Changes to the Working with Children Check
The Social Services Regulator (SSR) is implementing the latest stage of reforms in response to the Rapid Child Safety Review.
Changes, effective from 28 July 2026, allow the Working with Children Check to identify and respond to child safety risks earlier and share information between schemes, other regulators and organisations.
AppConnect: Transition from e-Business platform for department applications
As previously communicated, the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and the Department of Health (DH) have been transitioning users of their applications from the e-Business platform to AppConnect. This change will better protect sensitive data through security enhancement and streamline user access management.
Save the date: Emergency Preparedness and Engagement Forum
The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) is holding its annual Emergency Preparedness and Engagement Forum on Wednesday 7 October 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The forum is open to anyone from the social services sector, including organisations funded by the department.
