The Victorian Government acknowledges Victorians with disability who advocated for the establishment of the Disability Royal Commission and those who generously shared their experiences with the Commission throughout the inquiry. Your voices, and the voices of all people with disability, must remain at the forefront of our work.
The Victorian Government’s response marks an important milestone in our work to create a more inclusive society and builds on work that is already underway to improve outcomes for Victorians with disability including through the Inclusive Victoria: state disability plan 2022–2026.
The Victorian Government has carefully considered the Disability Royal Commission’s recommendations since it released its final report last year. The final report included 222 recommendations. The final report highlighted the nature and extent of the violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation experienced by people with disability in Australia
The Victorian Government has accepted in full, in principle, or in part, most of the recommendations within our responsibility.

Victoria has also worked in partnership with the Australian Government and other states and territories to develop responses to the 85 joint recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission.
