Help create better workplaces for workers with lived experience of family violence

22 August 2025
To build more positive work environments for people with lived or living experience of family or sexual violence, the Victorian Government is developing some practical resources for employers who provide family violence or sexual assault services, to help them better support and value workers who are also victim survivors.

The resources will be released in 2026.

To create these resources, the Victorian Government will be working with specialist lived experience and community engagement consultants from morgan&co. They have a close understanding of Victoria’s family violence and sexual assault system and bring their own lived experience to the work.

To ensure these resources meet the needs of Victoria’s family violence and sexual assault sectors, there will be a range of ways to help shape how they are developed.

The Victorian Government is currently looking for representatives from the family violence and sexual assault sectors to participate in the Sector Advisory Group.

We are seeking managers, leaders, human resources professionals or professionals who are involved in projects related to workforce with lived experience of family and/or sexual violence.

We are also seeking a diverse mix of members, from rural and metro areas, organisations of all sizes, and a variety of family violence or sexual assault programs.

The Sector Advisory Group will be run by the Victorian Government’s Centre for Workforce Excellence, and will play a key role in providing:

  • feedback to shape resources from an employer and the sector’s point of view
  • advice and support to ensure a smooth implementation.

If you are interested in participating in the Sector Advisory Group, please complete the Expression of Interest form by Friday 29 August 2025 via this EOI link.

If you have any further questions about the Sector Advisory Group or the broader project, please contact the Victorian Government’s Centre for Workforce Excellence at cwe@dffh.vic.gov.au.
