Commencement of vulnerable person register revalidation period on 1 April 2025

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing’s Vulnerable people in emergencies (VPE) policy, integrates emergency preparedness planning with the delivery of funded services.

Funded organisations and municipal councils play a key role in screening and maintaining information on the vulnerable persons register (VPR).

The revalidation process commenced on 1 April 2025 via Datalink (the sole provider of the VPR database). Organisations with clients listed on the VPR are advised to review and update their system details as soon as possible. The revalidation period concludes on 30 April 2025.

This includes reviewing Crisisworks, the standard web-based emergency management system used by councils in Victoria. to:

  • Ensure the correct VPR Agency Coordinator is listed
  • Update organisation details as needed.
