Listening to those who use and are affected by CIMS is integral to the CIMS review. The review is being undertaken to strengthen CIMS alignment with its overall purpose “to safeguard clients by providing timely and effective responses to incidents which harm them during service delivery, which in turn enables service providers to enhance service delivery by learning from incidents.”

The CIMS Review team invite feedback on the draft CIMS policy document, which embeds the CIMS Review outcomes, including:

  • Strengthened Aboriginal cultural safety.
  • Clearly defined roles and responsibilities for everybody.
  • Streamlined investigation requirements.

Key features of the revised policy document include:

  • New format in an easy-to-read layout.
  • Enhanced policy for the analysis and learning from incidents (Chapter 6).
  • Embedding previous appendices and addenda into the one policy document.
