2025 Victorian Protecting Children Awards – nominations now open!

The annual Victorian Protecting Children Awards (VPCA) honour individuals, teams and groups who demonstrate excellence in working with children, young people and families.

These prestigious awards have been running for 22 years, showcasing the remarkable effort and passion across the Victorian child and family services sector and community.

Commission for Children and Young People – Residential Care Monitoring Program (Series 6) Report regarding the provision of food

The Commission’s ‘Series 6’ report has been completed following discussions with children and young people about their experiences relating to the provision of food.

Series 6 was conducted across eight residential care homes across Victoria between April to June 2024.

Mandatory Minimum Qualifications Policy – upcoming changes

Following a recent evaluation, DFFH is working with the family violence sector to update the Mandatory Minimum Qualifications Policy this year. This update will make it easier for people to start working in the specialist family violence sector.
