Publication of new CIMS policy

The Client Incident Management System (CIMS) review has been finalised.

The new CIMS policy requirements commence 9 December 2024. 

The new CIMS policy document will replace the current CIMS guide and is available on the CIMS webpage.

In summary, the policy changes include: 

  • new CIMS policy definitions 
  • clarified roles and responsibilities 
  • streamlined investigation requirements 
  • embedded Aboriginal cultural safety 
  • strengthened analysis and learning from incidents.

Online e-learning modules will be available to support funded organisations to operationalising the new requirements. Further information will be provided in November and December.  e-learning modules will be accessible via: 

Learning sessions will be made available to support the implementation of new CIMS policy requirements. The content of the learning sessions assumes that attendees have completed the online e-learning modules and are familiar with CIMS. Further information about registering for these sessions will be made available and communicated in the CIMS Review newsletter. 

The CIMS Review newsletter will continue to be issued throughout the remainder of 2024.
