The independent Forum for Truth and Recognition (the Forum) was established under the Inquiries Act 2014 (Vic) and is open until 18 March 2026.

The Forum is a safe and respectful space for people to share their experiences of child sexual abuse in Victorian government schools and certain non-government schools.

The experiences shared will contribute to an important public record and help Victoria build a stronger understanding of the lifelong impacts of child sexual abuse so we can better prevent and respond to it now and into the future.

Every experience matters and should be heard

How people participate is entirely their choice.

The Forum is accepting written or creative submissions, whether it’s a letter, voice recording, or expressed in an artwork, poem or song. Submissions can be sent by email or post.

People can also choose to book a personalised session with Angela Connors, Chair of the Forum and share their experience face-to-face or online. These sessions are guided by people’s choice and preferences.

Support is available

Support is available every step of the way. The Forum provides opportunities to access support services throughout the process and offers ongoing referrals. To see a list of services that are available now, visit Forum for Truth and Recognition Support and wellbeing
