On 2 September, the Hon. Natalie Hutchins MP, Minister for Women inducted 24 women to the Honour Roll at a ceremony at the Arts Centre Melbourne.
This year’s inductees are remarkable in many different fields. There are professors and doctors, union leaders, royal commissioners and a former MP. There are First Nations artists, a singing scientist and educators.
Some have excelled in academia and medical research. Others are honoured for their advocacy for victim-survivors of family violence and for people experiencing homelessness. They lead their communities around Victoria and make the state a fairer and better place for us all.
This year’s inductees are:
Change Agent: Professor Kerry Arabena, the Hon. Candy Broad, Elena Campbell, the Hon. Jennifer Coate AO, Liz Dawes OAM, Professor Kate Fitz-Gibbon, Lisa Fitzpatrick AO, Jane Harrison, Anastasia Le, Dr Nancy Lewis, Janine Mahoney, Professor Kelly-Anne Phillips, Dr Linny Kimly Phuong
Emerging Leader: Lutfiye Kavci, Dr Catriona Vi Nguyen-Robertson
Local Champion: Abiola Akinbiyi, Yvonne Hong, Maureen Mohr, Ana Rufatt-Ruiz, Vicki Scott
Trailblazer: Dr Angeline Achariya, Caterina Cinanni, Mother Mary Gonzaga Barry, Jenifer Lee
Each of these women has made an outstanding contribution. They join more than 750 women inducted to the Honour Roll since 2001.
Highlighting the achievements of women leaders progresses gender equality and shows future generations that anything is possible – if you can see it, you can be it.
