The Funded Agency Channel Governance website has been updated to provide additional resources to support strong and effective governance in funded organisations.
Strong governance is the foundation of an organisation’s capacity to deliver quality outcomes to service users and be accountable and responsible in its use of public funds. It enables the organisation to articulate and implement its strategic goals, manage risk and sustain a strong organisational culture.
The department is committed to supporting organisations to develop and sustain strong governance. The recently updated Governance website includes a wealth of useful resources for organisations relating to:
- Governance standards, requirements and frameworks
- Federal and state oversight bodies such as regulators, commissioners and audit bodies
- External bodies that can help organisations with governance
- Training and other learning and development resources
- Support for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
These resources will help Board members and others involved in organisational governance to build their capacity and capability to steward their organisation and better understand their particular role in its governance.
We encourage organisations to explore this website and discuss its resources within Boards and leadership groups.
