Changes to the Working with Children Check are now in effect
Changes to Victoria’s Working with Children (WWC) Check have started.
As of 19 October 2026:
• The Working with Children (WWC) Connect online service is live. It will help organisations and sole traders meet the new legal requirement to notify the Social Services Regulator (SSR) about workers and volunteers they engage to work with children.
• Mandatory online child safety training is now part of the WWC Check application and renewal process.

CIMS policy update advice
Limited updates have been made to the Client Incident Management System (CIMS) policy. The updated CIMS policy commenced on 15 October 2026.
The changes follow an implementation review of the key issues identified during the first 12 months of operationalising the December 2024 policy.
