The AUFV Identification tool can be used by workforces prescribed under MARAM who are required to identify observable behaviours and narratives that might indicate an adult is using family violence.
The AUFV Intermediate Risk Assessment tool can be used by trained specialist family violence practitioners to support assessment of adults using family violence by determining the level or seriousness of risk, using the Structured Professional Judgement model.
MARAM Practice Guidance and Tools
The AUFV Identification and Intermediate Risk Assessment Tools are part of a suite of MARAM Identification and Intermediate Responsibility level practice guidance and tools released by Family Safety Victoria in 2022.

MARAM AUFV training available
In 2026, Family Safety Victoria has engaged No to Violence (NTV) to provide the MARAM: Adults using Family Violence (AUFV) learning program for specialists working with AUFV.
Specialist family violence and homelessness workers who have completed the MARAM: Working with Victim Survivors of family violence program are eligible for free MARAM training for working with AUFV clients through NTV. Details can be found at: https://ntv.org.au/maram-training/
