Farm Advisory Service
Farmers across the state can access free sessions with a technical specialist through the Farm Advisory Service.
More than 1,000 farmers across the state have already accessed the opportunity to sit down with an advisor, to take stock, plan and act to manage the season.
Specialist consultants include agronomists, veterinarians, animal nutritionists, business advisors and farm planners, with expertise across dairy, beef, sheep and wool, horticulture and cropping.

Look Over the Farm Gate
Look Over the Farm Gate applications are now open.
The program offers grants of up to $5,000 to local organisations to run community events that support mental health and wellbeing.
Since mid-2025, close to 200 Look Over the Farm Gate events have brought communities together, engaging around 28,000 people across the state.
Look Over the Farm Gate is managed by the National Centre for Farmer Health on behalf of the Victorian Government to support drought-impacted communities across the state.
Farm Drought Support Grants – primary producers
Farm Drought Support Grant can pay for on-farm infrastructure upgrades and improvements such as grain feeders, troughs, pasture restoration, stock containment areas, and more.
A co-contribution grant of $5,000 is available statewide, with farmers in southwest Victoria able to access $10,000.
Eligible activities include water infrastructure upgrades such as pipes, tanks, troughs and dams, pasture and crop re-establishment, stock containment areas, grain and fodder storage, along with water carting.
Farmers can claim expenses on eligible activities incurred since 30 September 2024.

Wellbeing Counsellors
Wellbeing Counsellors meet rural business owners where they are, right across the state – covering the north east, north west, south west and Gippsland.
They work hand-in-hand with experienced financial counsellors to ensure that mental health receives as much attention as the bottom line.
Wellbeing Counsellors can provide practical strategies and help rural business owners to tailor them to their specific circumstances.

On-Farm Kangaroo Control Rebate program
Farmers across Victoria impacted by kangaroos competing for pasture and crops can apply for the On-Farm Kangaroo Control Rebate.
Farmers who hold an Authority to Control Wildlife (ATCW) can access a rebate to hire professional harvesters accredited by the Game Management Authority.
Eligible farmers can access up to 3 rebates of $450 each (ex-GST) with a 25% co-contribution.
