Applications open for the 2026-27 Victorian Aboriginal Community Initiatives Fund (CIF)

Aboriginal community initiatives fund
The Victorian Government will provide $1.1 million in funding to projects that educate, prevent, reduce and respond to family violence in Aboriginal communities across Victoria.

Projects selected for funding will support and address the priorities identified by the eleven Dhelk Dja Action Groups. 

Projects must be Aboriginal-led and align with the 5 Strategic Priorities of the Dhelk Dja: Safe Our Way – Strong Culture, Strong Peoples, Strong Families 10 Year Agreement (2018-2028).

The Community Initiatives Fund supports projects that:

  • Strengthen local capacity to address family violence
  • Provide ongoing or long-term community benefits
  • Complement existing local initiatives.  

Applications close Monday 28 September 2026 at 12.00pm.
