The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (the department) has developed three Best practice supervision information sheets for the family violence, sexual assault and child wellbeing workforces, now available online.

Supervision is a key strategy in developing and sustaining family violence, sexual assault, and child wellbeing workforces. The information sheets were developed in collaboration with the sector and provide guidance on:

• Supervision definitions
• Supervision functions
• Reflective supervision.

The information sheets are for use during individual, group or peer supervision sessions, policy development and supervision training.

The Guidelines are a key commitment of Building from Strength: 10-Year Family Violence Industry Plan for Family Violence Prevention and Response and Strengthening the Foundations: First Rolling Action Plan 2019-22.

The information sheets precede the Best-practice supervision guidelines, to be released later in 2023. Contact the Centre for Workforce Excellence at cwe@dffh.vic.gov.au for more information.
