An advertised call for funding submission for funded organisations, to deliver the new Education Supports for Children in Care (ESCC) program has recently been launched. Through the Tutor-Learning-Initiative, funding has been provided for the ESCC program to provide tailored, one-on-one education supports for 500 children and young people in care who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from education.

This advertised call for submission, lodged on the TendersVic site (https://www.tenders.vic.gov.au/) is for the delivery of ESCC services across the following four areas:

  • Central Highlands, West Division
  • Inner Gippsland, South Division
  • North Eastern Melbourne, North Division
  • Outer Eastern Melbourne, East Division

Separate and divisionally specific procurement processes are in place to determine the allocation of funds to Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations to deliver ESCC services to Aboriginal children.

It is anticipated ESCC will commence delivery in September 2024 by organisations registered under the Children, Youth and Families Act. Organisations may submit a proposal to deliver the program in one or more area/s.

An information session will be held on 30 May 2024 at 3pm.  Delegates interested in providing a proposal are invited to attend. The information session will be held online and is an opportunity for potential providers to ask questions about the ESCC program and the call for submission process. Please advise of your intention to attend the session by emailing careservices@dffh.vic.gov.au.

The submission process closes on 28 June 2024.

The ESCC program is a new program, distinct from other educational programs currently funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).

Any queries about the procurement process can be directed to submissions@dffh.vic.gov.au.
