Residential Tenancies, Housing and Social Services Regulation Amendment Bill introduced

A Bill proposing amendments to delay commencement of the Social Services regulatory scheme for 12 months, until 1 July 2024, has been introduced and has had its second reading in Parliament. The title of the Bill is Residential Tenancies, Housing and Social Services Regulation Amendment (Administration and Other Matters) Bill 2022.

Independent reviews and certification against the Human Services Standards will continue as per current arrangements until the 30 June 2023. This will include the payment of the funding contribution to eligible providers. Advice regarding arrangements beyond June 2023 will be provided once timelines for the implementation of the Social Services Regulator are confirmed.
