New parenthood and social isolation due to COVID-19 may be a trigger for mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorders.

The absence of face-to-face maternal health visits, reductions in breastfeeding support and new mothers’ groups means that normal opportunities for support are not available during the pandemic.
